The Rotary Club of Youngtown - The Gateway to Launceston
To Australia Trip in August Youngtown Endeavour Hills - 2009

In August 2009 several members and their partners travelled to Victoria for a weekend of FUN and fellowship.

We were met at Tullamarine Airport by members of the Endeavour Hills Rotary Club and their partners.  We boarded a bus and headed for a destination unknown (Coops, the organisor was the only one who knew).  Our first stop was at the Hanging Rock Picnic area (where Coops handed out "Picnics" to all).

Our next stop was the town of Bendigo, where we checked into the Shamrock Hotel, then headed to a Chinese restaurant for lunch.  After lunch a visit to the Chinese Museum - a fantastic place with so many interesting items on display.  Some free time for the rest of the afternoon.

At 5:00pm we all had to assemble at a tram stop - one of the tourist trams had been booked (for us only) to see the sights of Bendigo (at a slow pace) whilst we all partook of pre-dinner drinks before dinner and the usual fun that occurs at the Shamrock Hotel.

Next morning it was back on the bus to the Bendigo Pottery for a guided tour (thanks Pete) and then to The Two Fat Men in Maldon for lunch.  Our club was presented with a ShelterBox Certificate at this venue.  Following lunch and a stroll it was back on the bus and back to the Airport to head home (after a long delay due to an aircraft with a mechanical fault).

We eventually arrived at Launceston and planning has already commenced for their trip to Tassie in 2010 with many surprises in store.
